portrait of Alzenira de Quezada~ Mr Lady Zen

This artwork is a large scale portrait drawing of Alzenira de Quezada (Mr. Lady Zen).

Zen is an award-winning artist, singer, songwriter, performer, and a powerful voice in trans advocacy- an incredible creative, a mentor, and an inspiration to so many.
Their journey through pain, survival, sobriety, and transformation lives in their voice, their music, and their presence.
I created this large-scale charcoal drawing portrait in collaboration with Zen  with water flowing through their hands-a reflection of their deep connection to water as healing, movement, and becoming.
This video shown above includes material from Zen's award-winning film
"What's in a Name".
This video and our collaborative artwork was part of the Healing Words Project solo exhibition at the Museum of Art in Queretaro, Mexico March 6 - June 2026.

Proceeds from Zen's artwork support trans advocacy and community care.
"I have struggled with identity in the past, but now I am unapologetic about who I am as a queer elder and public figure.
